DESCRIPTION:
Aloe Cabins, a perfect countryside escape, is situated on a working citrus and dairy farm in the malaria free Addo area of the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Nestled amongst lush pastures and indigenous aloes, the cabins provide a family friendly setting in which to unwind. Enjoy memorable sunsets and scenic views of the surrounding valley from the cosy cabin decks. Swim in the pool, hike through the Bushveld Flower Reserve or simply relax in the shade of the Acacia trees, while listening to the call of the African Fish Eagles circling above the Sundays River.
Self Catering Accommodation
The comfortable 3 star graded self-catering cabins provide a central base from which to experience the big 5 in the world renowned Addo Elephant National Park, situated a mere 20km from the Main Gate and South Gate entrances to the park.
At Aloe Cabins we offer a choice between two semi-detached self-catering cabins, Gwarri and Num-Num.
Cabin 1 - Gwarri (sleeps 5 guests)
1 Bedroom with double bed and 2 single beds, toilet / shower en-suite. Open-plan lounge with 1 single bed, fully equipped kitchenette, TV with select DStv, board games. Free standing fans and heater. Wooden deck. Braai/barbeque area and communal swimming pool. Bedding, towels, fresh farm milk, citrus fruit in season and braai wood provided.
Cabin 2 - Num-Num (sleeps 4 guests)
1 Bedroom with queen size bed, toilet / bath / shower en-suite. Open-plan lounge with 1 single bed and built-in sleeper couch, fully equipped kitchenette, TV with select DStv, board games. Free standing fans and heater. Wooden deck. Braai/barbeque area and communal swimming pool. Bedding, towels, fresh farm milk, citrus fruit in season and braai wood provided.
Cleaning facility available on request.
Laundry facility available in nearby Addo Village - 8km
Attractions and Activities
There are a host of activities offered at Aloe Cabins:
• Self Hike: the Bushveld Flower Reserve offers three short trails, offering a wide variety of interesting plants and an abundance of bird life for the birders.
• Scenic walks - through the orchards and pastures

• Canoeing on river (canoe for hire)

Guided Bushveld Walks
As your guide, Charles Marais offers relaxed walks through the Bushveld Flower Reserve where you will hear all about interesting bushveld plants, including their ecology, folklore and medicinal value. Filled with a wide variety of succulents, geophytes and thorny woody plants, the Reserve is a good example of Mesic Valley thicket, Nama Karoo and Riverine Acacia thicket and some Grassveld. (Please note - booking is essential).

Apart from experiencing the big 5 in the world renowned Addo Elephant National Park, there are a host of attractions and activities available in the surrounding area. Visit one of the other nearby Game Parks such as Shamwari Game Reserve, Schotia Safaris or Amakhala.
