BriSan on the Canals is an elegantly appointed thatched guest house ideally set on the canals of St Francis Bay, with a lovely private beach and sundecks for relaxation. B&B accommodation in spacious, en-suite guest rooms, each unique in their own way.
The unique and pristine village of St Francis Bay is ideally located for either a short visit whilst exploring our magnificent Garden Route, or staying for a relaxing longer holiday. Situated only 100 kms from Port Elizabeth en route to Cape Town, or - if you are making your way up the Garden Route from Cape Town, the Winelands, Plettenberg Bay and Knysna - BriSan on the Canals is beautifully positioned to permit you to experience the best of everything St Francis Bay has to offer, waterways, beaches, golf and superb hospitality. On entering this elegantly appointed thatched guest house, hosts - Brian and Sandy Cunningham - will make you feel right at home.
Start your day with an early morning cup of tea or coffee whilst enjoying the tranquillity and beauty of the canals with the abundant birdlife. A boat trip or stroll to the beach for the kids to frolic in the waves, or a brisk walk along the beach to spot a school of dolphins or some whales (in season), will ensure that you come back with a hearty appetite to enjoy a gourmet English breakfast served on the terrace or in the cosy dining room.
The perfect way to end your day would be a leisurely sundowner cruise along our extensive canal system followed by a quiet drink in our cosy lounge or our casual TV lounge / library before visiting one of our many restaurants offering superb cuisine. Should you prefer a self catering option for your lunch or evening meal, we offer barbecue facilities.
ACCOMMODATION
Four of the elegantly appointed en-suite rooms have King-size / twin beds, luxury bathrooms with shower, bath, toilet, bidet, and basin. Each has an uninterrupted canal view, private patio and barbecue (braai) facility opening onto the lawns and gardens with easy access to the canal and private, secluded beach.
The luxury suite, affording magnificent views of the mountains, has its own balcony with private access and built in braai.
The remaining rooms are all unique in their own way. One leads onto a formal herb and vegetable garden which is used in the preparation of our breakfasts and other meals, thus ensuring that you, our guests, enjoy the freshest ingredients.
ACTIVITIES & ATTRACTIONS
Spend the day lazing on the beach, visit the exciting St Francis Port to watch the Chokka (Calamari) boats unload their catch, spoil yourself at one of the exciting local boutiques, or, if you enjoy walking, you can select from many lovely hiking trails. For those wishing to go game viewing, a day trip to the magnificent Addo Elephant National Park or one of the numerous other great malaria free game parks in the area can be arranged.
For the watersport enthusiast, St Francis Bay has wonderful opportunities to pursue this activity in the form of surfing the beautiful ‘Bruce’s Beauties’, windsurfing, kite sailing, jetskiing, waterskiing, canoeing, paddling and motorboating. An excursion up the Kromme River is an experience not to be missed.
Golf enthusiasts are catered for at the beautiful St Francis Links (a Jack Nicklaus golf estate) and the St Francis Bay Golf Club, both of which offer the very best golfing experience. There are also numerous other courses nearby from which to choose. We have a golf cart for hire.
