BUSH SPA
Indulge yourself in one of our Body Therapies designed to bring you a state of pure, organically inspired ... Body Bliss. The fragrance induced from wild flowers, indigenous fynbos, the African bush, a native Boma and a roaring log fire are our greatest inspiration. All our treatments are a blend of herbal and indigenous ingredients celebrating a variety of traditions to create a cross - cultural African inspired Bush Spa experience.
Flowers connect us to the spirit of the world - each treatment begins with an ancient ritual of a hot floral-infused foot bath. The ultimate experience on offer is the Magical Moonlit Massage, where at the end of a timber walkway lit by the soft light of the moon and a fairy-trial of hurricane lamps, an African-inspired experience awaits. Aromatherapy oils and the warmth of a log fire bring the ultimate in relaxation decadence to leave you ready for a deep sleep in the quiet of The Dunes night where not even dreams will stir you.
ACTIVITIES
For the more active, guided walks into our adjoining coastal reserve, Thula Moya, where a mecca of flora and fauna abides. The reserve, with its numerous water holes and hides, allows nature enthusiasts to take in the birdlife and wildlife uninterrupted.
Frogging Safari
The frog safari starts at sunset, when our newly appointed froggers make their way all huddled in a game drive vehicle, armed with torches, nets and plastic bags and wearing gum boots we head to our private nature reserve Thula Moya, where we find the frog filled dams. A sharp eye, keen ear and agility are key to the successful bagging of the springly amphibians.
The noise is deafening as the frogs sing and create music of their own. They call as loudly as they possiblely can in order to find a suitable mate. And, though the frogs come in all sorts of hues and colour combinations, from spotted, striped to dotted with red, green, yellow and black, it is not the sight of a handsome male that attracts the nubile females but the songs that they sing that have them swooning in the embrace of loud-mouthed males.
Once caught , the frogs are identified, listed and checked over for any signs of ill-health that would indicate pollution. They are then released back into the dam. Where they can carry on calling for their mate. So far, 13 species have been found in the area. The area is highlly protected so there is no access for pollution to take place.
