ATTRACTIONS and activities

ACTIVITIES ON THE PREMISES
For the bird lover, there is plenty of bird life around. Take full advantage of our South African weather and sunbath around our swimming pool on those warm summer days, or simply catch up on your reading (and napping!) time under the trees of our lush, peaceful garden.

Activities in the surrounding area
Visiting attractions such as Queenstown Museum, the Walter Everitt Sunken Garden, Miss Lock’s Shell Art Gallery, the Queenstown Library and the JC Marshall Gallery will give tourists insight into the history, art and culture of the town. For those wanting to take on the outdoors, activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing, water sports, San rock art exploring, fishing, hiking trails and canoeing are available at various locations around town.

The Valley of Desolation is the pride of the Karoo, as is the Camdeboo National Park and the Tsolwana Game Reserve. Plan a vacation to Queenstown and enjoy the freedom of nature and true South African hospitality offered by locals.

Location

Tranquil House provides ideal accommodation for anyone with any business to do in the surrounding district such as Lady Frere, Cofimvaba, Tsomo, Cathcart, Whittlesea and Sada. The small town of Queenstown is located in the Eastern Cape Province, with the Hangklip Mountain as the backdrop.

After being overlooked as a holiday destination for many years, interest in Queenstown has begun to develop, as more and more visitors discover the unmatched beauty of the landscapes surrounding the town and the numerous attractions and activities Queenstown has to offer. Due to the town being established as a military stronghold, even though it was never used for this purpose, the town has a unique hexagonal layout.
